Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon’s black Labrador puppy Major cutely cowered after she discovered substantial damage done to the base of her sofa on Tuesday.

‘Wait! What is this?!’ the New Orleans-born 45-year-old – who boasts 37.3M social media followers – exclaimed.

‘Major, who ate the couch? Who did that? Did you do that? Major!’

At that, Witherspoon’s canine companion, whom she adopted on January 15, turned his head away in guilt.

‘Couch eater!’ Reese (born Laura Jeanne) concluded.

‘Good thing he is cute.’

The TIME cover girl adopted French Bulldog puppy Minnie Pearl on November 9 and she’s had Chocolate Labrador Hank for many years.

Witherspoon’s fourth dog is the English Bulldog Lou, whom she has also had for many years.

Reese is also mother to three children – son Deacon, 17; daughter Ava, 21; and son Tennessee, 8 – from her marriages to ex-husband Ryan Phillippe and current husband Jim Toth.

The Hello Sunshine co-founder is currently executive producing Olivia Newman’s big-screen adaptation of Delia Owens’ 2018 novel Where the Crawdads Sing, which began production on April 17.

The North Carolina-set mystery drama stars David Strathairn, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Taylor John Smith, and Harris Dickinson.

Since October, Witherspoon has been hard at work executive producing and reprising her reporter role in the second season of the Apple TV+ series.

Audiences can next catch Reese’s return as pig mother-of-25 Rosita in Garth Jennings’ star-studded animated sequel Sing 2, which hits US/UK theaters December 22.
