Mark Philippoussis watches his SAS Australia premiere with his family as he claims the media ‘totally fabricated’ his playboy lifestyle storyline during the height of his tennis career


He made his much-anticipated debut on Monday’s episode of SAS Australia

And former tennis star Mark Philippoussis watched the action-packed premiere with his family.

Mark’s model wife Silvana shared a picture of herself, the retired tennis player and their two children Nicholas, seven, and Maia Maria, three, sitting in front of the their television in their living room.

Silvana captions the picture: ‘We’re ready!!! SAS Australia on Channel Seven. Up next !!! Mark Philippoussis.’ 

Silvia said the couple’s daughter was a ‘little excited’ about seeing her famous father on TV.  

The mother-of-two had earlier posted promos of the series leading up to the premiere,  along with a boomerang video of her making popcorn as the family prepared to watch.

The final post was a clip of the introduction of the episode which sees Mark in the infamous SAS interrogation room as a sack over his head is pulled off.

The series of family posts presented a distinct contrast with claims Mark made in the premiere that at the height of his tennis career, the media portrayed him as a playboy with a wild lifestyle.’

‘Being a professional tennis player, the prize money is incredible. You play hard you work hard. Then, the media, they push that whole playboy lifestyle, which was bulls**t,’ he said on the show.  

Mark added that being on the series was an ‘opportunity’ for his fans to get to know him.

Philippoussis had a lengthy professional tennis career during which he won two Davis Cup titles with Australia in 1999 and 2003.

His demonstrated athleticism and strength on the court is bound to help take him far through the physical aspects of the course.
