MAFS groom Michael Brunelli reveals how to access a secret Instagram feature… and immediately regrets it

Instagram removed the ability to view like counts for Australian users in 2019.

And almost two years on, Married At First Sight star Michael Brunelli has shared a secret hack for desperate Aussies wanting the feature to return.

The 2019 reality TV star groom, 30, shared a step-by-step guide of how to bring back likes, and asked fans: ‘what are you going to do?’

Oh, no, no, no: MAFS groom Michael Brunelli (pictured) revealed how to access a secret Instagram feature to fans on Monday… but immediately regretted it

Michael and girlfriend Martha Kalifatidis are best known for being one of the few remaining couples from Nine’s eight seasons of MAFS.

The Sydney-based personal trainer shared a screenshot displaying how clicking the three dots on a user’s own post could allow them to hide the unique like count for that individual upload on the feed.

Michael also added: ‘to turn seeing likes on/off, go to setting > privacy > posts [and slide the button].’

‘For those in my DMs asking how I got the feature, I just updated my app,’ he said, noting he he was made aware of the update in an Instagram pop-up notification.

After receiving messages from his followers that the function was not available/accessible to all users yet, he apologised.

‘My bad everyone… even Martha doesn’t have it,’ he said.

In the beta feature, which began rolling out to select users on April 14, Instagram is leaving exactly what users want to see when it comes to likes to individuals.

Joking about his posts, Michael posted a video of himself distressed.

‘Realising I’ve given away an Insta secret and gone down on Mark Zuckerberg’s top friends list,’ he captioned the clip.
