The trailer begins with a black-and-white shot of Madonna taking a drag off a cigarette before the shot changes to color and she looks directly into the camera.

A rapid-fire montage of shots from her show is then shown while she begins to perform her 2019 track Crazy, which was released on the Madame X album.

The Holiday singer is then seen alternating through several different costumes while various politically charged statements are made with the help of her backup performers.

The montage also alternates between color and black-and-white shots, with many of the latter taking inspiration from film noir features.

At other times, the Grammy-winning singer was also seen moving around the stage with her dancers in a breezy dance number.

After a text graphic describes the show as ‘A new music experience,’ Madonna was spotted throwing a side kick to the adoring crowd before she performed in front of a black-and-white shot of her face.

Several more rapid-fire shots are shown before a voiceover states that ‘Artists are here to disturb the peace.’

The trailer ends with a shot of the hitmaker looking skyward as the feature’s title is imposed over her body.

Madonna also shared a statement regarding Madame X and noted via The Huffington Post that she was grateful to be able to express her views to her fans all over the world.

‘Sharing my vision with global audiences has been profoundly meaningful to me,’ she said.

She also remarked that the ongoing state of the global pandemic had brought the importance of musical performances into a wider perspective for her.

‘The opportunity to bring its message and the incandescent artistry of all involved to an even wider audience comes at a time when music is so deeply needed to remind us of the sacred bond of our shared humanity,’ she expressed.

Madame X’s director, Ricardo Gomes, also spoke to Town & Country and expressed that the feature would serve to both observe and entertain viewers.

‘It has a very strong message that is so incredible and political, and after this year and a half of being shut down and not taking anything for granted, it’s powerful,’ he said.
