Irina Shayk shows off her figure in a nude Moschino dress at the 2021 Met Gala

The start of autumn is less than two weeks away, but Irina Shayk brought back spring flowers with her gorgeous look at the 2021 Met Gala.

The 35-year-old Russian model beamed ear-to-ear as she hit the red carpet in Manhattan on Monday in a stunning nude dress that was decorated with 3D floral designs.

Adding an awkward element to the gala was the presence of her ex-fling Kanye West‘s estranged wife Kim Kardashian.

Flower power: Irina Shayk, 35, left little to the imagination when she walked the red carpet Monday at the Met Gala in Manhattan in a nude Moschino dress decorated with flowers

The model was making her triumphant return to the high-profile event as it returns after the 2020 edition was canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Irina’s beige off-the-shoulder Moschino dress featured a bustier that emphasized her hourglass figure.

The sheer fabric featured a high slit to highlight her toned and tanned legs.

The 5ft10in catwalk star complemented her dress with lustrous gold open-toe heels that strapped around her ankles.

Just days earlier, Irina was seen around New York with luscious long brunette tresses, but she appeared to have shorn them for the Met Gala and opted for a chic pixie cut.

Although the nude dress blended in with Irina’s tanned skin, the candy-colored flowers stitched onto the outfit added plenty of color to the look.

The flowers helped protect her modesty over her bust and derriere, and they pooled on her modest train.

The show-stopping dress was designed for Irina by her friend Jeremy Strong, the creative director of Moschino.

The designer posed with the model and contrasted her vibrant ensemble with his black double-breasted suit, which featured a cummerbund.

But the jacket featured a pleated tail reaching down to the ground with a visible pink satin liner that complemented the pink petals in Irina’s dress.

Designer and muse both ascended the stairs, with Jeremy gripping Irina’s hand.

The two also posed with Karen Elson, who wore a sparkling jeweled off-the-shoulder top with a pink skirt to complement Jeremy’s jacket.

Irina’s outfit couldn’t have been more dissimilar to Kim Kardashian’s. The reality star walked the red carpet alone in head-to-toe Balenciaga, including a black full-face mask.

The design was reminiscent of outfits her soon-to-be ex-husband Kanye West has worn during the creation of his Donda album.

The model, who shares a daughter with Bradley Cooper, had struck up a relationship with the chart-topping rapper in June, but it fizzled out by mid-August.

Irina’s triumphant appearance at the gala comes after she took New York Fashion Week by storm.

She normally would have walked the red carpet at the Met in May, but the event was moved back to September due to the pandemic.

The theme is In America: A Lexicon of Fashion and the event features a heavy-hitting contingent of celebrity co-chairs: actor Timothée Chalamet, musician Billie Eilish, poet Amanda Gorman and tennis star Naomi Osaka.

Although Irina’s look wasn’t obviously American-themed, she trusted it to an American designer.

Honorary chairs for the evening will be designer Tom Ford, sponsor Instagram’s Adam Mosseri, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour.

When the hosts were first announced, Vogue magazine said: ‘Each of the Met’s four co-hosts embodies the defining factor of American style: individualism.

‘[They have each] developed a distinct visual language for their public personas, one that is informed by the legacy of iconic fashion made in the USA.’

Irina’s presence at the Met Gala indicates that she has received a Covid-19 vaccine, which is required this year.

‘Currently, all attendees at The Met Gala on September 13 must provide proof of full vaccination and will also be expected to wear masks indoors except when eating or drinking,’ a spokesperson for The Met said last month.

This year’s gala will be a more intimate affair, to be followed by a larger one on May 2, 2022. Both will launch a two-part exhibition, a survey of American fashion to be on view for almost a year.

In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, opening Sept. 18, will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the museum’s Costume Institute and ‘explore a modern vocabulary of American fashion,’ the spokesperson added.

Part two, In America: An Anthology of Fashion, will open in the museum’s popular American Wing period rooms on May 5, 2022, and will explore American fashion, with collaborations with film directors, by ‘presenting narratives that relate to the complex and layered histories of those spaces.’ Both parts will close on Sept. 5, 2022.
