Elon’s model mom Maye Musk, 73, looks stylish on stroll with her dog in New York City

Her son Elon Musk was the talk of the weekend as he hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

But Maye Musk didn’t seemed too bothered about the controversial appearance.

The 73-year-old model looked as stylish as ever as she was seen walking her precious pooch in New York City on Monday.

The silver haired stunner combed her short locks to the side as she showed off her evergreen looks with natural, complementary make-up.

She donned a black leather jacket over a matching turtleneck.

Maye completed the fashionable look with a pair of flared white trousers with an intricate pattern on it along with black leather dress shoes.

Her modeling career began as a pageant queen in her adopted home of South Africa in the late-1960s.

The Canadian-born beauty spent her time in the US and Canada beginning in the late-1980s, where she continued her modeling career after taking time to earn master’s degrees in dietetics and nutritional science.

More recently, she became the oldest CoverGirl spokesmodel ever at age 69, while also finding time to appear in Beyoncé’s Haunted video.

However her appearance was not enough to save Elon’s debut hosting  gig from receiving a decidedly lukewarm response on social media, with critics describing it as unfunny and a wasted opportunity.

The 49-year-old Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder – and one of the world’s richest men – had been a controversial choice to appear on SNL amid a pandemic.

And critics online were unimpressed with his delivery, with one blasting: ‘Now everyone knows he’s not funny, witty or clever’.

Lorne Michaels, the SNL producer, was singled out for particular ire.

‘I don’t care how much Lorne Michaels wants to go into space, tonight is unforgiveable,’ said one.

Musk opened his monologue by mocking his monotonal speaking style, saying no one can tell when he’s joking.

‘It’s great to be hosting ‘Saturday Night Live,’ and I really mean it,’ said Musk standing on the stage in a black suit with a black T-shirt.

‘Sometimes after I say something, I have to say that I mean it.’

He added, in explanation, that he is the first person with Asperger’s syndrome to host the show:

‘Or at least the first person to admit it,’ he said.

It may have been the first time Musk has publicly said he has the mild form of autism. But at least one former ‘SNL’ host, Dan Aykroyd, also has talked about having Asperger’s.

And despite his admission, social media remained annoyed by Musk’s appearance.

One Twitter user described Musk as ‘a real life Bond villain’, while another responded with a photo of Joaquin Phoenix as The Joker.

‘This is the bad place,’ said another, with a meme from the show The Good Place.
