EastEnders SPOILER: Ben Mitchell and Callum Highway appear to finally wed in romantic ceremony as pair pose in celebratory confetti

EastEnders viewers were left crying with joy at the end of January when Ben Mitchell and Callum Highway finally got engaged.

And it looks like fans should have their tissues at the ready as the pair appear to wed in a romantic ceremony on Tuesday’s episode of the soap.

The happy news comes after first look images were released of the boys smiling with joy surrounded by a shower of celebratory confetti.

Special day: Fans should have their tissues at the ready as Ben Mitchell and Callum Highway  appear to finally wed in a romantic ceremony on Tuesday’s episode of EastEnders

Mechanic Ben (played by Max Bowden) looked to be keeping things casual for the special day as he posed in his workwear overalls with a festive corsage attached to the lapel.

Meanwhile, his husband-to-be Callum (Tony Clay) looked dapper as he beamed in a traditional suit, black shiny brogues and a maroon tie and matching waist coat.

It comes after the couple’s nuptials were plunged into uncertainty on Monday night’s episode.

Divided by his loyalties, Ben faced inner turmoil over the revelation that DI Thompson had blackmailed Callum into spying on his family.

Things quickly worsened when Callum’s brother Stuart revealed to Phil Mitchell later in the episode that policeman Callum had been snitching on the Mitchell’s.

Despite his fiancee’s betrayal, Ben was convinced by his young daughter Lexi to show up for his wedding ceremony.

However, the mechanic was so indecisive about his attendance that he didn’t even have time to change into his tuxedo.

The question now remains whether Callum and Ben will get through their vows without revenge-seeking Phil halting proceedings.

It’s been a rocky road to happiness for Ben and Callum fraught with lies and crime after sharing their first kiss in June 2019, so it was no surprise that their engagement back in January delighted viewers.

Throughout the episode Ben had been planning to pop the question to Callum , enlisting the help of Lexi to make it the perfect proposal.

But unbeknownst to him Callum had also been planning a proposal of his own, which he began when the pair met outside the Queen Vic.

Realising he’d been pipped to the post, a furious Ben shouted: ‘Lexi is going to kill you!’ and stormed off.

Fearing he’d blown his chance to make an honest man of Ben, a devastated Callum wandered over to the Prince Albert, where he was greeted by his friends and family holding up signs bearing the words: ‘Will you marry me?’

Ben then appeared on the balcony with an enormous bunch of flowers and after being joined by Callum the pair proposed at the same time, and no surprise the answer was a resounding yes.

The episode ended on an uplifting note with their family cheering down below as fireworks filled the sky.
