Big Brother’s Jess Trend was given the emotional news that her grandmother was dying on Wednesday night’s episode.

The AFLW player, 29, burst into tears as she received her nan’s terminal diagnosis in the Diary Room via a phone call from her brother at home.

‘Hey Jess. We need to tell you that nanna isn’t doing too great. They found out that it was cancer, a tumour,’ her brother said.

‘There’s not very long. She’s going to a better place. She gets to go hang out with Pa again.

‘We’re very proud of you, and we all want you to stay as there’s nothing you can do.’

As Jess fought through tears, she said: ‘Just tell her I love her, so much.’

After being comforted by her fellow housemates, Jess was brought back into the Diary Room shortly after to say her final goodbyes to her beloved grandmother.

‘Hey nanna,’ she said. ‘I just want to say I love you so much. So, so much.

‘You are just the most magical human and my heart is yours. I just want you to know that… my footy, and all that I do these days. It’s all for you.’
